1968Mr Wilfried Philipp, as a sub-exhibitor of a "friend", presented the world's first tampon printing machine here.
1971With the invention of the industrial tampon printing by Mr Wilfried Philipp in 1968, the first production machine using the open tampon printing system was put on the world market in 1971.
1971In 1971, at the K'71 in Düsseldorf, the first patented tampon printing machine "TS 100/1", a sensational innovation. The Swiss watch industry ordered 100 tampon printing machines and established the beginning of the mechanical engineering business.
1971Mr Wilfried Philipp, owner of over 150 patents from experimenting with various material mixtures based on silicone rubber. Today, the cold vulcanised silicone tampon is known worldwide as a tampon or printing tampon and has found innumerable imitators.

Out of the widely spread and well known methods of the "Decalcier process of the watch industry", Mr Wilfried Philipp, after experimenting with various mixtures of materials, succeeded in manufacturing pads (transfer media) based on silicone rubber, which combined many good printing properties.
Today, pad printing is a worldwide established industrial decoration and labelling procedure. Product design and production process are no longer imaginable without pad printing.

1956 - 1968
The one-man business founded in 1956 as the engraving establishment "Wilfried Philipp Industriegravuren" grew rapidly with the invention of industrial pad printing by Mr Wilfried Philipp, to 60 employees in 1968, with the occupation of the company's first premises of its own.
1970
The world's first pad printing machine was introduced at the Hanover trade fair.
1971
1971 The first patented pad printing machine, the "TS 100/1", was exhibited at the K'71 in Düsseldorf and was a sensational innovation. The ordering of 100 pad printing machines by the Swiss watch industry established the beginning of the mechanical engineering business.
1974
In 1974, "Wilfried Philipp Industriegravieranstalt" was already represented by an agent in Japan.
1977
1977 Founding of a USA/Chicago TAMPOPRINT® sales office by one of our own employees from the tool manufacture. 1977 The Sondermaschinenbau TAMPOPRINT® was introduced. 1977 Founding of the mechanical engineering company "ALFA TOOLS® Wilfried Philipp GmbH" in Westerheim.

1985 Takeover of the ALFA TOOLS® GmbH Spezialmachinenfabrik" company. By 1990, this had grown to 80 employees.

1987 First vertical rotary pad printing unit for music cassettes

1988 The first mechanical high performance integrated pad printing machine with "hermetic" system was introduced - the "Rapid 2000" pad printing machine .
1989
1989 Ground breaking ceremony for the new building for "TAMPOPRINT® GmbH" in the Lingwiesenstr.1, Korntal-Münchingen, Germany. In France, founding of the TAMPOPRINT® subsidiary "TAMPOPRINT® S.a.r.l.".
1990
1990 Occupation of the current TAMPOPRINT® AG head office in Germany with 170 highly qualified employees. The first ALFALAS® labelling laser is introduced.
1993
1993 Mr Wilfried Philipp had the innovative idea of manufacturing pad printing clichés using laser technology. In the same year, the construction of a laser system was started.
1994
1994 Building and occupation of the company's own building in France/Lyon. 1995 Official opening ceremony of the TAMPOPRINT® subsidiary "TAMPOPRINT® S.a.r.l.".
