3-5-part ampoule strips or 1-part ampoule strip-5

This system concept is an outstanding achievement from the Tampoprint AG department responsible for constructing special machines and features all conceivable modules for a modern, industrial form of inline production.

In a production process which requires no operating staff, the ampoule strips are taken from the customer's injection die moulding and filling system in a "clean" room and once separated or allocated are transferred on the customer's own interim production conveyor and placed in the in the component holders.

On the transfer conveyor, the ampoule strips are checked one by one for absolute seal integrity by a monitoring system. Ampoule strips which do not pass this check are removed from the production process via poor quality parts ejection.

The parts which are made from polypropylene are now pre-treated using a Corona unit. After surface treatment the ampoule strips are decorated in a tampon printing process using up to 3 tampon printing machines of the "Rapid 2000/130" series (here with 140 mm doctoring cup, a special production). To ensure that the optimum print image register is obtained quickly, all tampon printing machines are positioned on adjustable x/y cross tables.

Intermediate drying takes place between the tampon printing process (up to 3 such processes are possible) and once the full print image is complete, final drying is carried out using a cold and hot air blower.

Finally before the parts are supplied to the packaging unit, the tampon print image area on the ampoule strips is checked for quality criteria using a high-resolution camera.

All modules are controlled and checked using a Siemens PLC controller. This is positioned centrally in a touch screen unit which is housed in a swivel-mounted articulated arm.

Output: 1,500 strips/hour

Number of colours: 3
